NEW WORK
These paintings are a product of many hours spent disarticulating a book of Audubon's Birds of America. In a subconscious form of therapy, I felt compelled to cut all the birds from their pages, sparing no time for details (legs, long feathers), without an intended outcome.

From the piles of decontextualized birds, I started to make collages and short stop-animations which eventually became paintings... currently on view at Perdita Productions in Geyserville, CA through December 28.
